Micronavigation in public spaces – Warsaw

Micronavigation in public spaces – Warsaw

The year 2023 will be rich in new challenges and undertakings. One of them is a project based on micronavigation in public spaces for the capital city of Warsaw, the implementation of which the InnerWeb team will most likely begin in the second half of February.

The project involves, among other things, introducing solutions with improvements for blind people to enable them to move freely in public spaces and independently handle everyday affairs. The project covers nearly 100 public utility facilities: approximately 60 offices and public places, as well as all metro stations.

InnerWeb, as a subcontractor, is implementing the full scope of the tender for building a micronavigation system as part of the e-accessibility component of the Virtual Warsaw Functional Area (Virtual WOF) project, commissioned by MobileMS since June 2022. We provide the technology, i.e., all transmitters (ibeacons) for designated places and facilities, as well as software. The task will be carried out together with partners – SoniqSoft and Appvinio. A team of almost fifty programmers, engineers, and specialists is working on the entire system.

Virtual Warsaw Functional Area (Virtual WOF)

"The main goal of the project is to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors, including tourists, by providing a package of e-services facilitating multi-faceted interaction with municipalities and the use of public services using mobile technologies."

"E-accessibility – implementation of a micro-navigation and contextual information system designed to facilitate movement in public spaces, including inside buildings, and to increase the availability of information and improve the handling of affairs in public offices, especially for people with visual impairments."
